(Very) Quick Trip to Austin, ft. Large Doughnut
Last weekend I went to the University of Texas at Austin for a research symposium. Although I was there for less than 24 hours, my traveling companions and I managed to fit in some fun.
I opted for “Miss Shortcake” (cream cheese icing with fresh cut strawberries)
Before we checked into our hotel, we got doughnuts from Gourdough’s Public House. They were large & scrumptious. After this treat, we rolled down the car windows & cruised down 6th Street, enjoying being students in a college town with vibrant nightlife for a glorious moment.

Between presentation sessions the next morning, I visited the Blanton Museum of Art. Unfortunately, their upstairs galleries were temporarily closed, but there was still plenty to see on the ground floor. I also caught up with UT friends at a campus coffeeshop.
Before we left town, we stopped at Michi Ramen for sustenance.
